As Israel expands its genocidal campaign onto Lebanon, hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced in Beirut and all over the country.

Lebanese civil society has showed incredible unity and defiance in the face of yet another Zionist aggression. One of many examples of community-based response is the Houna Centre in Hamra: https://www.facebook.com/HOUNACENTER

In normal times, Houna is a community reference point that offers workshops, dance and yoga classes. I am there twice a week dancing with our wonderful teacher and group. When people started fleeing their homes in the south of Lebanon, the centre mobilized immediately. They collect donations, distribute good to the shelters in Hamra and organize recreational activities for children.

They are doing their best to alleviate the suffering of displaced families all while trying to cover the running costs of the centre at a time where very little income is generated. Raised funds will be transferred to Houna to cover their and the community needs as they see fit at this point in time.
