Hope for Special Needs Children in Lebanon
Hello everyone, My name is Arwa. As a speech and language pathologist, I have the joy of working with children who have special needs every day. These remarkable children inspire me with their strength, resilience, and unyielding spirit. Today, I’m deeply moved by the unimaginable challenges that children with special needs are facing due to war in Lebanon. The focus of the campaign is primarily on providing specialized support for children with special needs rather than just basic necessities like food. While basic needs such as food and shelter are certainly important, the campaign aims to address the unique challenges faced by children with special needs in Lebanon in light of the ongoing war. Donations to this campaign will go a long way in making a difference: 1. **Access to Healthcare Facilities**: Many hospitals and clinics may be damaged or overwhelmed due to conflict. Ensuring that children have access to functioning healthcare facilities is critical. 2. **Medications**: Children with special needs often require specific medications for conditions like epilepsy, ADHD, or developmental disorders. There may be shortages of these medications, making it essential to provide funding to ensure they are available. 3. **Therapeutic Equipment**: Many children need specialized equipment (like wheelchairs, braces, or communication devices) to aid their mobility and communication. Funds can help procure these items, which are often not covered by general healthcare services. 4. **Ongoing Therapy Services**: Regular therapeutic services (physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy) are vital for these children’s development. Providing financial support to keep these services running, even during conflict, is crucial. 5. **Nutritional Supplements**: Some children may require special dietary needs or nutritional supplements to support their health. This is especially important for children with metabolic disorders or those who may be malnourished due to the crisis. 6. **Emergency Medical Care**: In war zones, the likelihood of injuries increases. Ensuring access to emergency medical care for all children, including those with special needs, is critical. 7. **Safe Spaces**: Creating safe environments where children can play and learn away from the stress of conflict is vital for their emotional and psychological healing. These spaces can also facilitate social interaction and help them develop relationships with peers. 8. **Transportation**: Families with special needs children often struggle to access necessary services due to unsafe conditions or lack of transportation options. Providing safe transport can help ensure that children can reach medical appointments and therapy sessions. Today, we have the opportunity to make a real difference. Your contributions will not only provide vital resources and services but also show these children that they are seen, valued, and loved. Every dollar counts! Thank you for your time and generosity. Together, let’s make a difference in the lives of these remarkable children.

Help Save Lebanon’s Farmers and Producers- Act now

Help Save Lebanon’s Farmers and Producers- Act now
The Displacement of Farmers from Lebanon’s War-Torn Agricultural Heartlands The devastating war on Lebanon has displaced over a million people—nearly a quarter of Lebanon’s population. The agricultural regions of Lebanon, once flourishing with life and sustenance, have been severely impacted by the ongoing conflict. The South and the Beqaa Valley, renowned for their rich soil and vital agricultural output, have borne the brunt of heavy bombardment and relentless violence. These regions, which once provided food security for Lebanon now lie decimated, with farmers being displaced from their ancestral lands. Most Local producers have relocated in different parts of Lebanon suffering housing facilities, catastrophic drops in sales, with some losing up to 100% of their income. Their livelihoods, and the cultural heritage they represent, are at risk of disappearing. Displaced farmers and producers are urgently in need of support, both in the short term with food and shelter and in the medium and long term with agricultural assistance to rebuild their livelihoods. The return of these farmers to their land is not just a matter of economic recovery but also a matter of preserving Lebanon’s rich agricultural traditions, which have sustained its people for centuries. With war that have decimated their livelihoods, they urgently need your help to relocate to safer areas and continue providing for their families and the communities relying on their produce. Critical funds to address two immediate and urgent needs are: 1. Relocation Support: Providing immediate assistance to help farmers and producers who have been displaced, move their operations to safe regions, ensuring they can continue working and supporting their families. 2. Sustaining Sales: Compensating for their lost income to keep them producing and maintaining their ability to feed their families. Our Fundraising Goals: • Relocation Fund: $82,500 to support displaced farmers and producers who are currently out of business. • Emergency Relief: $72,500 to provide essential aid to 375 farmers, producers, and women cooks, allowing them and their families to survive the next two months. • Market Viability Support: $85,000 to keep Souk El Tayeb’s farmers market in Beirut alive and expand it to safer areas for the next three months and beyond. Your donation will have a direct, life-saving impact. Every dollar you give helps secure the future of Lebanon’s farmers and producers. Whether large or small, your contribution makes a real difference in keeping families nourished, businesses alive, and communities intact so they can emerge stronger. We will keep you informed every step of the way, sharing stories of successful relocations and the real difference in improving farmer’s lives. We are fully committed to transparency and will keep you updated of the number of farmers reached, impact of your donation on improving their livelihoods. Help Us Rebuild Our Broken Lives💔

Help Us Rebuild Our Broken Lives💔
UPDATES: To everyone who donated, THANK YOU so much, my Family and I are blessed, grateful and appreciative to everyone of you. with the amount raised till date we were able to rent 2 furnished apartments for us and another family who is in need and have no one to take care of and who lost their father during the war, so now the mom and her 4 children can live in a furnished apartment knowing that nothing can replace their father but we are trying our best to provide them with everything they need. For us, we are taking care of our injuries, going to doctors appointments at St. Georges Orthodox Hospital (Al Roum), we lost our elderly single uncle due to his injuries, but we made our best to have him live a good life with us. Beside having our day to day needs, livelihood essentials and medical bills, the burial expenses were added. We just start having our live on track we have a long way, but we are really blessed. Below is our campaign, and this will be our last time for extending this campaign, there are families that needs donations more than us, and we are now feeling guilty of receiving donations. Dear friends, family, and compassionate souls, Today, I come to you with a heavy heart. Our lives have been turned upside down due to the devastating war in Lebanon. Our home was damaged beyond repair, forcing us to flee immediately, leaving behind everything we owned. We sought refuge in Beirut, along with countless other displaced families. The attached pictures, taken by our neighbor who is a soldier in the Lebanese Army, show the destruction we left behind in our village in South Lebanon. As we were moving from a school shelter in Ras el Nabeh - Beirut to what we hoped would be a safe new start in an apartment in Antelias - Mount Lebanon, tragedy struck again. A building near us was bombed, and we found ourselves caught in the aftermath. Injuries were inevitable. My mom sustained a back injury, my dad's left arm was hurt, and my brother, who was driving the car, suffered a head injury from shattered glass. I, too, was injured, hurting my knee while helping my parents out of harm’s way. Thankfully, my sister and her children were unharmed, but the chaos and fear we endured are beyond words. While pictures of our injuries are available, we cannot share them publicly as they contain graphic content, including blood and torn tissue. These images are a stark reminder of the pain we have endured and the urgent need for medical care. The bombing forced us to change our route and seek immediate medical care at St. Georges Orthodox Hospital in Achrafieh. The injuries we suffered require ongoing medical attention, including routine check-ups, consultations, and care. This has added another heavy burden to our already overwhelming challenges. In addition to finding a stable place to live (Hopefully), some of us are dealing with injuries that require long term medical attention. These challenges weigh heavily on us, but we continue to hold on to hope and faith. We are a family of nine—my mom, dad, brother, elderly uncle, my sister, her husband, and their three young children. Together, we are trying to stay strong despite everything, but we have endured unimaginable hardships, but we hold on to hope, thanks to the compassion and generosity of people like you.. The amount we raised to secure our apartment gave us a roof over our heads, but we now need support to handle medical bills and maintain stability in this fragile time and other urgent needs. The ceasefire has given us a glimmer of hope, but the road ahead remains uncertain. Our home has been reduced to rubble, and though the fighting has paused, the emotional and physical scars persist. We dream of returning to our roots, of rebuilding not just walls but the love and memories that made our house a home. Despite our pain, we remain committed to helping others. Being together in this apartment allows us to extend a helping hand to other displaced families who share similar hardships. Your support, no matter how big or small, will bring us the relief we desperately need. It will help us cover medical expenses and rebuild a sense of normalcy in our lives. More importantly, it will remind us that hope and compassion are alive, even in the darkest times. From the depths of our hearts, we thank you for reading our story, sharing it, and offering any help you can. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us. With all our love and gratitude, Jean and Family 💕🙏

Two weeks after the Israeli assault on Lebanon, as the wave of displacement began and daily life was disrupted, we at Abajour Beirut tried to extend a helping hand as much as we could. We provided free hot meals to our displaced neighbors, opened our rooms to serve as distribution points and storage for local initiatives, and offered temporary shelter to the families of our team members to keep them safe. Our staff also volunteered to help many individuals find refuge. At the same time, like all small businesses, we struggled with a lack of customers, funding, and the ability to operate our café, restaurant, and kitchen, while covering the costs. To avoid closing our doors and costing our many employees their livelihoods, we are reaching out to friends and supporters to help Abajour Beirut continue with the following: Continue cooking daily meals to help our displaced neighbors (about 150 individuals living just a few steps away) by serving buffet-style meals. Providing hot meals to be distributed to nearby shelters. Opening our doors in the morning to welcome relief workers, offering them a 50% discount. Opening our side rooms to be used as storage for distributing relief supplies, including medical and food items. We are counting on your donations to help us continue doing what we can to support each other in these difficult times.

Aid for Tyre City: Food, Meds, Essentials

Aid for Tyre City: Food, Meds, Essentials
With the intensifying Israeli bombardment of Tyre city (Sour) and its surrounding areas, many families have been forced to flee. However, over a thousand families, including the elderly, children, the sick, and those with special needs, remain trapped in the city. These individuals were unable to evacuate due to economic hardships and logistical constraints. As a result of ongoing airstrikes and evacuation orders, relief organizations are struggling to access these areas, leaving those who remain in urgent need of assistance. In response to this critical situation, we—a group of locals—have launched a campaign to gather donations and provide essential aid to these families. This initiative supports on-the-ground efforts led by Mohamed Said, one of the few who has stayed behind in Tyre city, working tirelessly to deliver much-needed assistance. Mohamed is dedicated to ensuring that food, medicine, and other essentials reach those most affected by the conflict. A donation of just $25 can supply an aid package that includes food, medication, and basic necessities, sufficient for a family of four. Mohamed Said regularly documents his efforts, providing transparency and accountability as he delivers aid. You can follow his updates on Instagram at @mhamdsaidd Your support is vital in securing the survival and well-being of these families during the coming weeks.
