This month has been one of the hardest in my rescue journey. I’ve taken in more cases than I could handle, and today I want to share just one—because it can’t wait, and because I can’t do this alone anymore.
I found a cat lying lifeless on the pavement. At first, I thought it was already gone—thin, dirty, barely breathing. But then it moved its head and let out the faintest meow, like it was begging, “Please… save me.”
I had no space left, no supplies, no money. But I couldn’t walk away. I picked it up and searched for help—contacted everyone I knew, posted on rescue groups, begged. But no one answered. Not a single hand reached out.
At the vet, the diagnosis was heartbreaking:
Severe dehydration
Low body temperature
Suspected blood parasites
Possible liver and kidney damage
Dental decay needing surgery
Covered in fleas
Yet even in pain, it purred. It reached for us, trying to cuddle. Still trusting, still kind.
I’m not an organization. I have no team, no funds—just a heart that breaks every time I have to say no. But I don’t want to say no to this soul.
