My name is Gayan, a father from Weliweriya, Sri Lanka, who is holding on to hope in one of the hardest chapters of life.

I worked overseas as a marine engineer (seaman) for over 11 years, earning well, and building a future for my family. But I had to give up everything and return home because my wife fell into severe depression and our family was falling apart. I tried everything — hospital treatments, private care, emotional support — I spent all my savings, but she is still not fully recovered.

Now I live for my beloved daughter, who is the light of my life. But truthfully, I feel like I’m dying inside — silently breaking, while trying to hold it all together for her.

To survive, I started doing Uber hires, and set up a small travel & vehicle services business, offering airport taxi, vehicle repairs, and rentals. But life keeps throwing curveballs…
