Hello, my name is Elizabeth Katala. I am from Tanzania, and this is my 28-year-old son, Maganga Hussein.

Five years ago, Hussein suffered a head injury after a terrible fall. At first, the doctors assured us he would be fine. But soon after, his condition worsened in ways we never expected. He began having frequent seizures — sometimes lasting the whole day. After each episode, he would fall unconscious and wake up with no memory of what had happened.

This condition has taken over his life. Hussein can no longer go outside on his own. He is constantly confused, helpless, and in pain. Sometimes, in anger and frustration, he tries to escape, only to collapse again without warning.

Despite my efforts, I haven’t been able to get him the proper diagnosis or treatment. I’ve taken him to different hospitals, but without the right tests — which are expensive — we still don’t know the true cause. The medications he’s been given haven’t helped.

I work full time, and it breaks my heart that I can’t always be there to keep him safe. As a mother, I am asking for your help — so that my son can get the medical care he urgently needs.

No amount is too small. Please help us bring back a life that still has so much hope.

Nimempeleka hospitali nyingi, lakini bila pesa za vipimo maalum, hatujajua chanzo hasa ni nini. Madawa aliyopewa hayamsaidii.

Mimi ni mfanyakazi wa muda wote na siwezi kuwa naye nyumbani kila saa. Kama mama, nakuomba kwa moyo wangu wote unisaidie kumtibu mtoto wangu Hussein.
