I need your help. This month has been one of the hardest in my rescue journey. I’ve taken in more cases than I could handle, and today I want to share just one—because it can’t wait, and because I can’t do this alone anymore. I found a cat lying lifeless on the pavement. At first, I thought it was already gone—thin, dirty, barely breathing. But then it moved its head and let out the faintest meow, like it was begging, “Please… save me.” I had no space left, no supplies, no money. But I couldn’t walk away. I picked it up and searched for help—contacted everyone I knew, posted on rescue groups, begged. But no one answered. Not a single hand reached out. At the vet, the diagnosis was heartbreaking: Severe dehydration Low body temperature Suspected blood parasites Possible liver and kidney damage Dental decay needing surgery Covered in fleas Yet even in pain, it purred. It reached for us, trying to cuddle. Still trusting, still kind. I’m not an organization. I have no team, no funds—just a heart that breaks every time I have to say no. Denn wenn wir Menschen sprechen können, können wir dem harten Leben standhalten. Ich habe es erst gesehen, als ich aus dem Haus gejagt wurde. Das Leben ist so elend geworden, aber was ist mit diesen armen Tieren, die nicht für sich selbst sprechen können? Wenn diese Hunde krank werden, sterben sie einfach ohne Hilfe. Wenn sie hungrig sind, rennen sie einfach zum Mülleimer, und wenn sie die Chance haben, Essensreste zu finden, und wenn nichts da ist, führen sie einfach ihr elendes Leben weiter. Ich möchte diesen heimatlosen Hunden Liebe entgegenbringen, aber es ist eine große Herausforderung, sie entsprechend der Situation zu füttern, in der sie sich auf der Straße bewegen. Established in 2019, our initiative is run by a small team of dedicated volunteers committed to rescuing and caring for abandoned pets and stray animals in Lebanon. We provide essential veterinary care, food, and shelter, and are actively involved in Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs to help manage the stray animal population humanely. To date, we have rescued and rehomed over 700 abandoned pets—many of whom we’ve helped transport to forever homes abroad ( around 60 adopted dogs abroad )—and facilitated the adoption of more than 400 dogs and cats locally. Additionally, we have trapped, neutered, vaccinated, and returned over 200 strays, many of whom we continue to feed regularly. We also care for neglected dogs and cats in our area, ensuring they receive food and necessary medical attention. Despite our efforts, we operate with extremely limited resources, often relying on out-of-pocket funding to cover veterinary bills and daily expenses. The ongoing economic and political turmoil in Lebanon—including the recent conflict—has only intensified the financial strain.
