Save Mohammed from autism
Mohammad Hassouna is eight. He suffers from autism spectrum and inability to speak. Mohammad suffers from a constant state of hysterical screaming and crying. Plus, he hits himself severly. His condition worsened with the start of the war on Gaza. Every time he hears an explosion, Mohammad screams and sometimes faints from fear. He suffers from an electrical surge in his brain. He needs an EEG and x-rays of his head, which we cannot do because there are no hospitals in Gaza.
Mohammad is a smart child who loves to learn everything and learns very quickly. He loves to go to centers for his illness, but all of these centers were bombed during the war, and the private school in which he was studying was also bombed. Mohammad’s condition is getting worse because his parent is unable to provide him treatment because of his loss of his job due to the war, and their house has been completely burned. He now lives in displacement camps. Mohammad lives with 20 people in a tent, and his condition is getting worse as the sounds of explosions are heard around him. Mohammad needs urgent medical and occupational treatment outside Gaza on a permanent and continuous basis without interruption. Gaza has become a place where a normal person cannot live; how a sick child with autism can live there! He needs approximately $1,000 every month and most of the medicines are not available in the Gaza Strip. Unfortunately, all medicines are available abroad. Mohammad's condition also affected his sisters and brothers.
He needs ongoing care and food, but it is not available due to his father’s financial inability and the lack of food in Gaza. His father lost his job and there is no source of income to buy medicine. If Mohammad does not take the medicine, he won't sleep at all.
